Famous for his cult classics, Angels & Demons, and The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown has mastered the art of suspense. 1. He tried his shot at a music career for a while after he graduated from college. In fact, he self-released a children’s cassette tape called “SynthAnimals”, following his mother’s musical footsteps.

2. After “SynthAnimals”, Brown decided to form his own record company called Dalliance. He self-produced a CD titled “Perspective”, aimed for an adult audience due to its mature content. Namely, a song about phone sex.

3. After the unsuccessful release of his two first albums, Brown decided to move to Hollywood to give it his last shot at as a singer-songwriter. He ended up joining the National Academy of Songwriters, where he met his wife, Blythe Newlon.

4. Brown released another CD titled “Angel & Demons”, which he would later use as the title of his novel Angels & Demons.

5. Needless to say, his music career didn’t take off, but he found a new passion in writing thrillers, inspired by reading Sidney Sheldon's novel, The Doomsday Conspiracy, while on vacation in Tahiti with his wife.
